Members
Present: Jill Chaffee, Monica Smith, Ilene Levit, Pam Neff,

Minutes:
- reviewed
minutes from previous meeting. No corrections.
- discussed
e-mail from LD Wakker concerning recommendations on
spelling list. Changes have been made.
- reviewed
evaluations from next year. Most were positive, strong recommendation
that event should not be held in a gym due to acoustics.
- reviewed
financial report from last year. No action.
- discussed
plans for 2005 competition. Regionals are on November 5th,
final is
on Saturday, November 12th. Will look at Lyndon (NE), Williston
(NW) and
Northfield (Central) for regional sites. SE and SW will be
determined when
Applications come in. Would like to use Northfield for final.
Discussed
pronouncers. Bob will check with LD Wakker, Mary Carssarino
and
Nora Lacroix. Thom will check about possibility for Williston.
Final pronouncer to be determined.
Bob will
check with Risa Mancillas about which cycle of words is to
be used for the competitions.
Next meeting
to be scheduled after applications are due. Possible phone
conference.
- discussed
status of Scripps competition. Scheduled for March 14, 15
or 16. Date to
be determined. Location will be in Chittenden County (St.
Michael’s College?). Bob will get interest survey out to school
in early October.
