- Mike
O’Day elected as Committee Chair.
- motion
by Ed. H., second by Tom C., to accept minutes of 2/13/06.
Approved
unanimously.
- review
of 05’-06’ championship. Everything went smoothly.
Mike O.
sent an e-mail earlier concerning the judges fee at middle
school meets.
Harwood has a question about how much is supposed to be paid
and an issue with
paying judges cash for independent participants. Patti – believes
assignor is not paid for assigning middle level meets. Mike
will check with Kara on this. Need to
develop a standardized fee for middle school. Patti will e-mail
judges to see if they are in favor of a) $45 plus mileage
or b) varsity fee $75 with no mileage. Once we
have the information we will have a quick conference call
to decide the issue and list it in the guide.
Guide
should also show that middle school follows F.I.G. Level 8
modified rules for competitions (high schools follow level
9 modified).
- 2006
– 2007 season
- Essex
will host championship on Saturday, February 17, 2007.
- no rules changes as we are in the 2nd year of a 2 year cycle.
- coaches recommend that up to 4 sting mats be allowed for
the floor exercise
only. Mats are not to be removed during the routine. In the
past, schools
have used 2 mats. Having 4 mats does provide more of a cushion
on non-
spring floors. Motion by Kevin R., second by Ed. H., to allow
up to 4 sting
mats to be used in floor exercise only. They are not to be
removed during
the routine. Vote – approved unanimously. Note – host schools
are not
expected to provide sting mats. If they are needed, a school
should make
arrangements with the host school before the competition (to
be put in
guide).
- number of teams competing this year will remain the same.
This will also
be the recommended alignment to ASC in November.
