IN-DOOR TRACK COMMITTEE Members Present: Dan Mead, Bob Hingston, Eric Langevin, Jeremy Hammond, Dave Heitkamp, Pat Phillips, Burns Page, Bob Johnson Minutes: - Bob Hingston elected as committee chair. Unanimous. - minutes of 10/13/06 approved unanimously. - Discussion on certified athletic trainer at championships. Eric will contact Mike Landsberg to see that a trainer is there. Dave will get the same individual to provide security at the door. Dave will also make sure the long jump pit has an appropriate amount of sand in it. This made a big difference last year. Bob H. will check on the sound system. - regular season – each school needs to bring one worker for each meet. Need 6 officials per meet. To be paid $55 (full meet) or $35 (half meet). Preliminary schedule of meets. - 12/8/07 MAU
@ Williams Proof of insurance still required during regular season (send to Bob Hingston). $3 per individual per meet. Checks only for entry fees, no cash. Entries due Wednesday before the meet. No new entries the day of the meet. Students must enter 3 meets in regular season to qualify for championships. During the regular season, schools need to provide someone to count laps in 1600 and 3200 races. Athletes can only do 2 distance events (4x800, 1000, 1600 or 3200). $50 fee for first meet. Entries may be limited during regular season. 4 events per athlete. All events run as finals. Dave H. will get this information to Pavel so he can update the guide. - brief discussion on whether we need to start limiting numbers at meets. This is becoming an issue, however no action is needed at this time. - adjourned |
