Professional awards recognize the vital role played by VPA members across Vermont. We honor the devotion and commitment of these leaders.

The VPA Professional Awards
One award is given in each category each year. Nominations are welcome from VPA members, colleagues, school board members and superintendents (Nominations from others must be submitted by one of the previous categories.). The VPA Awards Committee reviews all nominations and applications.

The VPA Hall of Fame

The VPA Hall of Fame was formed in January 2001 to honor and recognize outstanding individuals who have had a significant and lasting impact on the lives of Vermont students for their involvement in high school athletic and fine arts programs.

The VPA Awards

• Robert F. Pierce Award, Vermont Secondary Principal-of-the-Year.

• Henry Giauque Memorial Award, Vermont Elementary Principal-of-the-Year.

• Vermont Technical Director-of-the-Year.

The National Awards

• National Distinguished Principal’s Awards, one in each state from National Association of Elementary School Principals and National Association of Secondary School Principals

• John Winton National Middle Distinguished Principal

• NASSP Assistant Principal of the Year
  

The Awards Process

• Complete and submit the nomination form. Nominations may be submitted by the nominee themselves, a VPA member or a nominee’s colleague.

• Nominees will be notified by the committee and asked to complete and submit an application form.
