1) Discussion
on recommendation from VPA Nordic Ski Committee concerning
divisional alignments. Moved by Dan Marlow, second by Kathi
Bierworth, “to accept the divisional alignment recommended
by the Nordic Ski Committee for 2003 through 2005. This recommendation
would put Lamoille, Harwood and Otter Valley in Division II.”
Vote yes – 4, no – 0 Motion approved
2) Discussion
on Oxbow’s request for two additional scrimmages so that they
could host a benefit tournament. Request tabled, pending further
discussion with Oxbow about the options they have available
to them.
3) Discussion
on VPA Hockey Committee action to increase the number of players
allowed on the bench from 20 to 24. D.G. Weaver explained
the process that was used to decide this. NFHS rules do allow
this pending state association approval. No formal vote needed.
This will go into effect for the 2003-2004 sports season.
4) Discussion
on the request from Hanover High School to be included in
the Vermont Girl’s Ice Hockey tournament. Ray gave the update
and will keep the ASC informed as we go through the process.
No action taken.
5) Discussion
on Rochester School’s appeal to allow 8th graders to participate
on the high school cross country team (they are 4 students
over the 50 limit). Motion by Dan Marlow, second by D.G. Weaver,
“to allow Rochester School to add two 8th grade girls to the
high school cross country team.” Vote yes – 0, no – 6 Motion
denied.
