IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL SNOWBOARD COACHES PARTICIPATING IN SNOWBOARD COMPETITION:
Follows USASA (judging) guidelines and Vermont modifications.

1) The boys’ and girls’ state snowboard meets will include three separate events: Halfpipe; Slopestyle; and Giant Slalom. Please see appropriate sections for detailed information.

2) Protective helmets are required at all times (regular season events, practices, district meets, and state competitions). The protective helmet should meet the standards of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association and/or the Federation International of Skiing (FIS). Also note bibs are required as intended at all times during warm-up & events.

3) NO INVERTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY VPA COMPETITION (PENALTY-SUSPENSION FROM NEXT TWO (2) COMPETITIONS.)

4) It is the coach’s responsibility to insure that all competitors know and adhere to the skier’s responsibility code or risk ejection. See VPA rules on ejection.

5) All schools participating in the slope style or half-pipe will pay a fixed seasonal fee of $150.00 per team or club for judging and expenses. Make checks payable to Mt. Saint Joseph Academy and mail to Marty McDonough, 127 Convent Ave., Rutland, VT 05701. Failure to do so means a school cannot participate in an event until the fee is paid.

6) A maximum of eight boys and eight girls per school will be allowed for regular season half pipe and slope style events (G-S unlimited). Note-if an event has excessive numbers of participants the Meet Director has the option of limiting participation.
