Please be aware that there are two types of VPA membership AND you will receive invoices separately:

    1. School Dues - required of schools to participate in post-season, interscholastic play and other VPA-sponsored student activities. 

    2. Professional/Individual Membership - information below

    VPA professional membership is available to school leaders in Vermont and elsewhere. Principals and other Heads of Schools, Assistant and Associate Principals, Athletic Directors, aspiring principals, retired school leaders and others interested in being part of this influential professional community are invited to join. We now have a 'basic membership,' for $60, that entitles you to connect with us and stay informed of VPA's activities and opportunities.

    VPA services include Support & Advocacy, Leadership Resources, Professional Learning and more.
    Membership fee levels:

    Full Membership

                   School Leaders*:  $390

    *Principals, Assistant Principals, CTE Directors, Superintendents, Special Education and Curriculum Directors, other administrators

                   Athletic Directors, Deans of Students, Student Activities Directors:   $250

    Basic Membership

                   Aspiring, Teachers, In Transition, Just Curious)   $60

                   Retired/Former Leader   $55

    All VPA members (full and basic) receive:

    • VPA Leads – the Executive Director’s weekly newsletter
    • The Marshall Memo (a $50 value, arrives as part of the weekly newsletter)
    • Advocacy and updates during the legislative session
    • High quality professional development for a reduced fee, including the VPA Leadership Academy
    • Primary consideration for the Waddington Education Leadership Initiative
    • NAESP and/or NASSP membership (for an additional fee, determined by NAE/SSP)
    • Access to the EdLeadersNetwork (for an additional fee of $99)

    Full members also receive:

    • $1000 in legal protection, annually
    • Access to the Members Only section of the VPA web site for education leadership resources and research
    • ‘Main Idea’ Professional Development book summaries
    • Access to the VPA Salary Survey
    • A copy of the Vermont Education Directory ($16 value)

    Principals, CTE Directors and Assistant Principals who are full members also enjoy:

    • Eligibility to serve on a VPA governing committee (Executive, Activities Standards and/or Professional Learning & Support)

    • Free entry for you and a guest to VPA-sponsored sporting events (inform us before using!)
